Cazenovia College is primarily a residential community, with 93% of all full-time students residing in College housing. Student Life staff focus on promoting a positive living community that provides students with safe, comfortable and attractive communities that support academic learning, personal growth and leadership development in order to prepare students for success and service in their personal and professional lives.

The Residence Life Program at Cazenovia College, coordinated by the Student Life staff, plays a significant role in student development. Recognizing the importance of the learning that takes place outside the classroom, Student Life staff members focus their attention on the intellectual, social, personal, cultural and ethical development of students, and on the creation of a living environment that supports the learning mission of Cazenovia College.
The residence halls are supervised by full-time professional staff members, Head Resident Advisors and Resident Advisors who reside in each residence hall. Head Resident Advisors and Resident Advisors are students who have demonstrated excellent leadership skills. Available 24 hours a day, the staff works to provide a welcoming and secure environment. They meet regularly with students to address needs such as maintenance concerns, security issues, lifestyle issues and personal challenges typical to most college students, including stress, test anxiety, homesickness and relationship management.
Members of the Student Life staff are responsible for designing, planning and implementing social and educational programs throughout the academic year. These programs encourage students to become engaged in the life of the College by providing social opportunities as well as opportunities to enhance their intellectual and personal development.
