Jessica Ziehm is a lifelong advocate of agriculture. She grew up on a dairy farm in eastern New York and has worked in various roles and capacities in the agricultural industry.
She has marketed livestock feed for Cargill, promoted milk in the Southeast through the dairy checkoff program, worked on member publications for the New York Farm Bureau and served as the sole spokesperson for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for twelve years, working under four governors and four commissioners.
With a dairy farmer husband and a young family at home, Jessica switched gears in 2012 and is now working as the Executive Director of the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition, a group that is dedicated to enhancing the public’s awareness and understanding of modern animal agriculture. Jessica is thoroughly enjoying this new endeavor as she embraces her creativity and passion for the dairy industry by empowering farmers to tell their story and enticing consumers to learn about the industry she loves.
