What Web browser do you recommend using to access Blackboard?

  • Window Users: XP/Vista (32/64 bit) Internet Explorer 7/8 or Firefox 3.5/3.6
  • Window Users: Windows 7 Internet 8 or Firefox 3.6
  • Macintosh Users: OSX 10.5/10.6 Safari 4.0/3.x or Firefox 3.5/3.6

When I'm using Blackboard and I click on a link within my course, the computer tells me I need a 'plug-in' and will not display the information. What does this mean?
There are several different media types that can be used within Blackboard. You may need to install a plug-in to view the files. You can find a list of plug-in located on our Technical Requirement page. If are you still having trouble viewing the files, contact the ICT Support Desk at 315.655.7777. You may also want to contact your instructor of the course and inform them of the problems.
