Cazenovia College welcomes applications from students who wish to transfer from another college. Transfer today and take advantage of significant scholarships and personal academic advising that will maximize your credits.

In order for a student who has attended another college to be considered for admission as a transfer student, the applicant must provide an application, transcripts, at least one letter of recommendation, an essay and the FAFSA. Applicants whose first language is not English are also required to take the TOEFL exam.

How to Apply

Application

Apply online, or complete and mail the application form. If mailing the application, include a check, made payable to Cazenovia College, for the non-refundable $30 application fee.

Letters of Recommendation

Submit one or more letters of recommendation. Recommendations are typically from current/former instructors or employers who can speak to your character, work ethic and potential to succeed at Cazenovia College.

Transcripts

Submit official transcripts of all college-level courses from all colleges attended to the Admissions Office.

Courses completed of a similar type and level with a grade of "C" or better at a regionally accredited institution normally will be considered for credit.

Usually, only a student who is eligible to return to his or her previous college will be considered.

Transfer applicants must also submit an official, final copy of their high school transcript including the graduation date (or GED scores).

Essay

The essay should explain why you wish to transfer and how Cazenovia College can help you achieve your academic, professional and personal goals.

TOEFL

If English is not your first language, include the results from your TOEFL exam.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

When applying or renewing your FAFSA, students must include Cazenovia College’s federal school code. Students are encouraged to complete, sign and submit the FAFSA by March 1st. (Learn more about submitting your FAFSA.)

Transfer Scholarships

Eligible transfer students may only be considered for one of the scholarships listed below. All transfer scholarships are available for two consecutive years.

Transfer Scholars Award - $25,000
For students who have obtained an Associate's Degree with a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade point average prior to attending Cazenovia College. All recipients of the Transfer Scholars Award are required to live on campus and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average as a provision of this scholarship.

Presidential Transfer Scholarship - $19,000
For students who have obtained an Associate's Degree with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average prior to attending Cazenovia College. All recipients of the Presidential Transfer Scholarship are required to live on campus as a provision of this scholarship and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - $14,000
For Students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Transfer Scholarship - $11,500
For students who have obtained an Associate's Degree prior to attending Cazenovia College and have achieved a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Articulation Agreements

Cazenovia College has articulation agreements with several institutions leading to baccalaureate degrees. These agreements are listed below.

An articulation agreement will indicate the exact courses a student should complete at the community college level in order to transfer to a specific academic program at Cazenovia College.
